Olsson Associates is pleased to announce that five staff members from Olsson’s Public Infrastructure, Land Development, Structural, Airport, and Water Resources teams recently passed the Professional Engineering (PE) exam. The requirements to become a professional engineer include four years of professional experience under a licensed professional engineer and passing the PE exam.
Andrea Bollinger, PE, is a member of Denver’s Public Infrastructure team. She has been with the firm since August 2011 and has a B.S. in civil engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Her experience includes performing analysis, planning, and design services for stormwater, wastewater, and water projects. She has also performed construction inspection and oversight for projects, including environmental, transportation, and structural projects.
Trent Dansel, PE, is a member of Kansas City Southland’s Land Development team. Trent has been with the firm since August 2007 and has a B.S. in civil engineering from Kansas State University. His experience includes working on public and private developments. In addition, he has designed storm sewer systems, helped prepare storm drainage studies, designed detention ponds, developed vertical and horizontal alignments of drives, designed storm/sanitary sewers, and coordinated utility design for on-site building connections.
Scott Birney, PE, is a member of Grand Island’s Structural team. He has been with the firm since February 2009 and has a B.S. in civil and structural engineering from Swathmore College. Scott brings structural and geotechnical engineering experience gained on transportation, bridge rehabilitation, and RTD Fastracks projects. Scott’s software experience includes numerous programs, and he also brings machinery operation experience, including skid steers, front-end loaders, forklifts, and truck-mounted drill rigs.
Trevor Tonniges, PE, is a member of Lincoln’s Airport team. He has been with the firm since December 2009 and has a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Trevor has experience in a wide variety of airport-related projects, including planning and preliminary design, paving rehabilitation and reconstruction, electrical, and building construction. His professional experience includes airport design, construction observation, project management, and FAA documentation.
Katie Vlock, PE, is a member of Kansas City Southland’s Water Resources team. Katie joined Olsson Associates in May 2007 and has a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Katie has experience providing final design plans, utility coordination, right-of-way plans, and cost estimating for roadway and bridge projects. She also uses AutoCAD, Visual Basic, MatLab, MicroStation, AutoTurn, and HEC RAS 4.0.
